For Immediate Release:
San Jose, CA- April 7, 2005 – Maximum Indifference, the all-instrumental progressive rock trio from San Jose, has been selected to compose and produce the soundtrack to the upcoming motion picture Death Ride, directed by acclaimed Japanese motion picture director Junichi Suzuki. Suzuki’s first motion picture to be shot entirely in the United States, Death Ride is a supernatural thriller about an American photographer whose tragic affair with a beautiful and mysterious Japanese model puts him on a ride with destiny, as he attempts to escape from the unforeseen consequences of her death. Death Ride stars Rand Gamble and Japanese model and actress Hinano Yoshikawa.
Although each performer of Maximum Indifference has been labeled a virtuoso on his respective instrument, it is not their technical prowess or the sophistication of the music for which Maximum Indifference is most renowned—it is the visual imagery that their music invokes upon the listener. Bassist Gustaf Fjelstrom aptly describes their music as a “film-less soundtrack.” As their die hard fans will attest, Maximum Indifference’s music creates a luxurious and fantastic soundscape that brilliantly conjures up countless images for those listening to the music.
“Maximum Indifference is a serious world-class band, and the visual qualities of the band’s music are truly unbelievable” said Los Angeles entertainment lawyer Lee Rudnicki. “I don’t think Junichi Suzuki will be the last filmmaker to take advantage of their unique talents … their music speaks for itself,” he added. Death Ride has just finished filming in Los Angeles, and will be featured in the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. Distribution details are still being worked out, but Death Ride is expected to be released in theaters around the world.
Check out the brilliant sounds of Maximum Indifference at Loud Music Symposium 6 at the Herbst Theatre in San Francisco on Saturday, April 23rd at 7:00 p.m., along with the San Francisco Renegades, the Phenomenauts and The Rebels of Rhythm.
